What the Heck is That!
A colorful new bike sculpture is located on the southeast corner of the grounds at NDOR.
"Crushing," created by Shannon J. Hansen, is one of 71 Tour de Lincoln sculptures being installed throughout Lincoln. The sculpture was placed in honor of Nebraska construction industry workers and sponsored by Dobson Brothers Construction Company.
The sculptures feature artistic bicycles and celebrate Lincoln’s unique trail system. They will be on display from May through September 2003. A public auction of the sculptures will take place on October 3, 2003, at Haymarket Park with the proceeds to benefit the artists, qualifying arts organizations, and the Lincoln Arts Council.
